Welcome. I am so glad you decided to read this section. Taking the first step is always hard to do.
Whether it’s a step towards self-discovery, empowerment, or living a healthier life, it takes a lot of courage to ask for help. Some people never take that step.
If you are feeling anxious, or overwhelmed, know that you are not alone. If you are feeling not in control, know that you are holding the key to freedom right now.
You are not your destructive behavior; it is just how you learned to cope. Living a life without anxiety, shame, or an eating disorder might be hard to imagine, in fact, perhaps you have lived this way for as long as you can remember. Your destructive behavior may feel like a part of who you are, and the idea of losing that can be scary.
One of my goals as a counselor is to reconnect you with your body, to help you live life present and in the moment, and foster a feeling of inner peace. Therapy and counseling aren’t designed to work overnight. I wish I could tell you that the road ahead is easy, but you probably already know that isn’t true. I can’t work miracles, but I am ready, and willing to listen, and validate whatever you have been through.
Through counseling I can offer you coping skills, mindfulness techniques, I can help you process past trauma; I can help you add meaning to the darkest moments of your life…but most importantly, I can offer you hope.
Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a brand new opportunity to rebuild what you truly want.
Lots of light and positivity,
Kellie
You are imperfect, you are wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging.― Brené Brown
